About

Thrive’s mission to provide LGBTQ+ homeless young adults with a safe and supportive environment to facilitate their empowerment toward transforming their lives remains central to what we do every day. Since our inception in 2015, our emergency shelter capacity has doubled in size to meet the demands in our community. Our first HUD grant in 2017 laid the foundation for rapid growth in the expansion of federal funding to date. Our mission critical programs now serve nearly 3 times the number of young adults with an annual impact of $1,400,000 in rental assistance and supportive services. All Thrive programs provide supportive services, intensive case management, and an array of wraparound services to our clients.

Thrive has a proven track-record of providing supportive housing services to youth ages 18-24 for the last ten years. Of clients exiting Thrive’s housing program, 66% never return to homelessness, and of those exiting Thrive’s emergency shelter services, 63% do not return to homelessness. Thrive Youth Center is uniquely positioned to participate in a supportive housing program due to our extensive experience providing emergency shelter, housing programming, intensive case management, and our dedicated team of highly qualified staff intimately familiar with serving the population of young adults experiencing homelessness in Bexar County.
