NHSDC's mission is to further the community we serve by promoting economic development through business development, affordable home building, and support of local agricultural industries. We serve eleven (11) counties in South Texas characterized by substandard housing, high unemployment rates, low educational attainment, and poverty. We continue building new affordable housing and helping home buyers attain affordable mortgage financing through partnership with private lenders. We offer technical assistance, community workshops, and development services to our borrowers including assistance in business plans, financial projections, marketing, bookkeeping, entrepreneurial training, credit guidance, and homeownership counseling.
